While this project does include three bedrooms, the primary focus was to create a large entertainment area. As a second residence located on a 20 acre parcel of land on the shoreline of Lake Tulloch, Ca, the ‘barndominium’ structure with western style interior sits well in its environment. Land & Structure provided design and structural engineering along with the permitting of a boat dock on the shoreline.
Significant effort was made by the contractor, Caldera Construction, to ‘age’ the materials used on the interior including shooting holes in the rusted corrugated metal panels.
Due to the remote location, this project was designed to be off grid, which was the largest conditioned space that we had designed to run on solar and batteries. Barry Electric provided effective solar and electrical systems for the project.
The end result of this project was unlike any other, authentic and fun and just what the owners were looking for.
